Graphene ~ relativistic electron system
2. Epitaxial graphene on 6H-SiC(0001) surfaces
(Fig. 3)

- Graphene has very interesting electronic properties such as the
very fast career mobility and the half-odd-integer quantum Hall effect,
because of its unique band dispersion.
- The graphene preparation method to obtain the uniformly ordered
large area graphene sheets is required in engineering. Our group is
trying to form the graphene sheet on 6H-SiC(0001) surfaces by
sublimation of the surface Si atoms.
- During the heat treatment of the SiC substrate, the surface atom
arrangement is changing (Fig. 3).
- We are studying the hydrogen adsorption properties on the
epitaxial graphene by thermal desorption spectrum.
