- The two dimentional free electron system can be existed on
√3x√3-Ag surfaces on Si
(111) surfaces by 1 monolayer Ag deposition.
- We demonstrate the STM lithography on √3x√3-Ag
surfaces to construct 2D quantum nanostructures with arbitary size and
shape.
- The electron standing-wave patterns are successfully observed in
the lithographed area of 20 nm in size at room temperature.
- Observed standing-wave patterns agree well with numerical
calculations.
